FTP (File Transfer Protocol) allows you to upload, download, and modify files on your server.
This is useful for managing configuration files, uploading scripts, plugins, maps, or gamemodes.
Below are the instructions for downloading and using the FileZilla FTP client to manage your server’s files.
Download the FileZilla FTP Client from the official website.
Open the downloaded installer file and follow the installation steps.
Once installed, run FileZilla.
At the top of the FileZilla interface, you will see fields to fill out:
Host: Your server's IP address (without the port number).
Username: Your Evolution Host account username (for game servers, prefix it with gpx
).
Password: Your FTP password as provided in your signup email.
Tip: Paste the password into Notepad first to remove any accidental spaces.
Port: 21 (the default FTP port).
Click the Quickconnect button.
After following these steps, you should successfully connect to your server via FTP.
The right side of FileZilla shows your server's files, while the left side shows your local computer's files.
You can now easily upload, download, and modify files by dragging and dropping between the two panels.
