FTP (File Transfer Protocol) allows you to upload, download, and modify files on your server.
This is useful for managing configuration files, uploading scripts, plugins, maps, or gamemodes.
Below are the instructions for downloading and using the FileZilla FTP client to manage your server’s files.
Download the FileZilla FTP Client from the official website.
Open the downloaded installer file and follow the installation steps.
Once installed, run FileZilla.
At the top of the FileZilla interface, you will see fields to fill out:
Host: The game server hosting machine's hostname. Found in the FTP section of your order confirmation email. For example omega.evolution-host.com
Username: Your Evolution Host account username with gpx added to the start. For example gpxjohn
Password: Your FTP password as provided in your signup email (or your current control panel password if you have changed it).
Tip: Paste the password into Notepad first to remove any accidental spaces.
Note: Your FTP password will always be the same as your current control panel account password.
Port: 21 (the default FTP port).
Click the Quickconnect button.
After following these steps, you should successfully connect to your server via FTP.
The right side of FileZilla shows your server's files, while the left side shows your local computer's files.
You can now easily upload, download, and modify files by dragging and dropping between the two panels.
